The restaurant was decorated nice too. They have that whole nice Japanese vibe in their decor, not your ordinary Japanese cuisine. Alex the bartender is also a good bartender. ”

“ I went to Kumo 27 because my friend's band was playing that night and my son was joining them for the first time. I was surprised how good the food was! I was expecting your typical run-of-the-mill American-Japanese with mediocre food. Boy, was I surprised! I ordered the Steak and Scallops Hibachi plate. That was a lot of food! That order didn't give you a choice of fried rice or noodles. They gave you both! If you're cutting carbs, this ain't the dish for you. It was very tasty and not greasy! The scallops were not overcooked nor rubbery. The steak was good, too! The vegetables were nice and crisp. Nothing was too salty. The seasoning was just right. The staff was very attentive, despite having a very packed house. They were able to accommodate my reservation of 12 people easily. What really surprised me was that the small Asian man bussing the tables was actually the owner. Just goes to show that hard work pays off. Of course, the band was banging that night. It was such a fun night. I, most definitely, will be visiting this spot again. ”

“ Kumo 27 has some of the most authentic-tasting sushi you will come across. Inside there are areas for hibachi, table and booth seating, and also private booth areas. The Texas roll is pretty hearty, as it has filet Mignon on top of shrimp tempura with spicy tuna on the inside, avocado, spicy mayo, eel sauce, and Wasabi mayo. The white geisha roll was very enjoyable with its spicy snow crab meat, eel, and peppered salmon. ”

“ We went to this restaurant for lunch for a quick bite on a Sunday and there wasn't any guest there. We were greeted by a hostess that led us to our table and noticed that the restaurant has a stage and equipment for performances, which was interesting. The first thing I noticed was that the restaurant was dimly lit during the day and, there was a musty scent that was a little off putting. We decided to stay and see how the food was. We loved the bench seating we got next to the window. The menu options were really really nice. I usually get a dragon roll but wanted to try a new dish with eel in it, so I ordered the geisha roll and lychee Martini. My boyfriend ordered the Texas roll with a blue Hawaiian drink. My martini was really good when I drank it through a straw, however sipping it at first tasted really watery but noticed that the flavor and alcohol sank to the bottom. The blue Hawaiian drink was tasty; not my favorite but my boyfriend enjoyed it. It took a little over 20 minutes to receive our food, which was unfortunate because we were the only ones there at first. We found out later that it may have been because the Texas roll comes with steak that's placed on top. I really recommend the geisha roll that has salmon and a non-seaweed wrap. It tasted so delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The Texas roll was unique. It was on the chewer side. If you love steak, I would recommend it. ”

However, I'll draw the line at their remake of the Beatles distortion fest Helter Skelter on constant repeat as we sat down at Kumo's Hibachi table. The song that once inspired Manson doesn't exactly go with Miso, especially at maximum volume. The good news is that once we calmed Steven Tyler down, the meal and the theatrics here were as solid as ever. Of particular note was the filet mignon. I don't know how they do it, while other restaurateurs cry poverty, Kumo piles on the food. Four heavy metal stars. ”

“ I've been going to Shogun (previous owners of this spot) all my life. Literally all my life, lol, such sentimental memories. Finally got to try Kumo! Love the renovations and updates they did with the place. The food is still overall delicious-- typical hibachi style. I do prefer Shogun's noodles to Kumo's and ice cream is no longer included. But one thing that Kumo takes win over Shogun is the prices. In this economy?! I did not expect for the hibachi items to be so affordable!!! My mom and I were beyond shocked and pleased. Hibachi service never disappoints. Well entertained, well fed. ”
